(ER015) Least Significant Bit – Obviously…Not
Hello again, you netlabel scallywags. I can tell already that what you desire at this moment in time is a digestible single. Something fleeting yet still with an ardent conviction and satisfactory conclusion. A single, perhaps? Yes, a single for you from Effluvia. Sent anonymously, “Least Significant Bit” (a project that I don’t believe has existed until now) has a one track album that knocked my socks off. Using concrete, experimental, and yet rhythmic sounds, the track has the heart of what otherwordly music encompasses. Confident weirdness from a faceless patron to the netlabel supernova. This track “Obviously…Not” is also embellished with plunderphonic tradition. The main sample here is the final speech given by Charles Chaplin at the end of his masterpiece “The Great Dictator”. Used here, it’s turned from gold to…. gold! Enjoy this. Digest it. Move on. But never forget that through listening to this track, as all sounds, you will be changed forever. Do not discard it. Badass album artwork too.
