(ER104) Caffeinate – Substitute

It is always encouraging to receive a submission from a newer artist in the netlabel community, especially when that release is awesome. It motivates me to continue editing this obscure little label when I know that more and more people are pulling themselves together, utilizing the tools they have on hand necessary to express their own individual sense of beauty and exaltation. Without that, the narrow tunnel vision of the world population will drive us over the edge. Every act of self expression gives power to a species which is growing more and more horrified by a feeling of uselessness and anonymity. To empower innovation in the arts is to help exercise our minds to stretch into previously unattainable states of consciousness, and this new record by Caffeinate offers a shining example. The music is masterfully produced, arranged with the focus of an architect, but with the raw feelings we need for a wonderful and cathartic musical experience. Each track, one after the other, draws you in and surprises you, which is the perfect formula to get your work noticed. The songs stand alone wonderfully by themselves, but they all orbit a common center or atmosphere like planets around the sun. Every track comes with it a beautiful picture, so check out the jpegs, as they illustrate beautifully the diversity of this sonic experience. Keep your faith in the DIY artists kindled. You will thank them for their honesty, purposefulness, and intelligence. Anybody, with clarity and determination, can make a beautiful piece of music with no matter what they have, but only a mind like the musician behind Caffeinate, who I hope pumps out more music, could have created this gem, so appreciate it as a unique species.
