(ER013) Absolute Zero – Proclamation (The Unreleased Walls)
Brace yourself with this one. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here. All those seeking dynamic shall be redirected to the lobby. This show is incessant. This show is torture. This show is stillborn. Such is the preaching of Gus Remolten, creator of the lowbit nihilistic noise project “Absolute Zero”. He had created a small bit of harsh electronics and harsh noise walls and then he killed himself in the woods. I had created a collaboration with him shortly beforehand and considered him a dear friend of mine. Though his sounds were bleak, and despite his renouncing of this, there was a profound punch of emotion purged into his releases. Cathartic, ferocious, full of revelation. I have plenty to say about him, but that can be further explored when I release my threnody for him. He had created these tracks in pitch darkness, live, to himself. Harsh noise walls, yet radiating with more than lethe rapid shrieking levees of nihil and rot (such is the reputation of the noise wall). There is a shrieking, boggy dynamic. Vomiting, black psychedelia behind the static voids, also modulating. Still though, the concept remains. We become the composers of the noise. We create dynamic within it. Through this all encompassing relativity, we become concealed in our heads. The visions here, when faced, are dark and bleak. Illuminate it with colors. Gus Remolten couldn’t. It was his way of executing his philosophy that haunts me in my night terrors. I’m not the only one either. On another note, this is the highest bitrate an Absolute Zero album has ever been, ever! Usually he used 16 kbps, but he keeps the dynamic alive with a relatively higher bitrate. Rest in peace, Gus Remolten.
