(ER022) Ecliptic – To the Stars and Beyond
Like stars we light the vacuum. Sentient life eyeing the cosmic dust in motion, filling in the black with colors, so seemingly shrewd. Our nerves illuminate, our skin tingles, our eyes unveil your secrets. Through time, like star matter, you move in chaos. Into states of woe, confusion, loss. Into states of excitement, peace, freedom. Moving along like pillars of space gunk smoldering with blinding shades. The space in this album is not the one you see in the night sky. Rather, it is what the stars on high see when they look into you with their metamorphosing, all-pervading, rooted eyes. Smoldering with secret life, the late Alex Vargas has yet another masterful album here on Effluvia, under the pseudonym “Ecliptic”. Deep and profound, he presents in this album a bulky 70 + minute anthology of the primordial hullabaloo in space through the lenses of different emotions, perhaps even not being limited to the emotion of man. All of these tracks work together but flourish as well as single components of music. All inhabiting their own world but all in the one direction of consciousness. Meditative, focused, yet delirious and mystifying, the atmosphere of the track will send tingles all about within your body. Slow modulating synths and unpredictable motions of electronic harmonies, with wonderfully organic ambient sounds stirring and cooing in the back, sometimes startling us with its amplitude, rather chilling at times. That chill of revelation. An homage to mystery, a humming fascination in the shooting stars, “To the Stars and Beyond” will take you right there. It is a shame that this talent has left the world, but so much life can be felt in every note of this drone epic. Use this album to help make life a celebration in the stars.
