(ER025) Calypso Bizaar & Dishdawash – …Because Caterpillars

Voices. We obscure ourselves, mutate ourselves. Different masks, different portrayals, different assumptions, different outcomes, different woes, different pleasures, different virtues, different vices. People abstract themselves. Trees with painted leaves, graffiti on the rocks. Voices flow in an out of our ears. Our consciousness grows cluttered. The wind that makes our branches whisper and shiver is restless indeed. Our orchards are silently moaning, isolated, opinionated, soon to be annihalated. Such flaw. Such omnipotent flaw. We are the vessels that hold in strain and lucidity, hiding in our heads like dream refugees. Soon the imagination grows to be too much, and as if waking from a nightmare, we are ruptured out of our skull and into the ears of anybody, anybody who will listen and nod like a nervous twitch. Smiling, showing their teeth. And yet the spirit sings the azure song of the cosmos through these howls, these cries, these symbols that you stare at now and hum in your mind. All is music, so we always sing. Effluvia is happy to bring you a split release between the voice of heaven, Calypso Bizaar, and the voice of mangoes, Dishdawash. Not that I need to differentiate between heaven and mangoes, but first Calypso. An illusive artist, spiritually acousmatic and wandering the terrains of the soul. The contradictions of the  spheres and destiny’s mantle of strength tightening the knots until she is provoked to sing. She howls to the nurturing moon with necessity and with soul. lifting the veils and advocating ABSOLUTE freedom in self. A lifting of the veil, a purging of the secrets, Calypso through her track “Damsel” finds herself revealed in liquid lawlessness that makes for pure art with self expression but without ego. Repeating the lyrics and letting the solar system manipulate it as she goes with the flow. You’ll be taken in by her singing. Profound, beautiful, alluring, unpredictable, and original. Then two shorter tracks from Dishdawash. A proud and euphoric belching of consenents and vowels. Metamorphosing feelings and a love for syllables dissassociated from their trivial meanings. All this made even more flawed by running them through a system, making them skip at random points.  Hoping to sing the song of nature, the music we utter to the gods in prayer, who transcend our mortal messages, we rise above definition and tango where there is no other language than the one of everything. A dialogue sprinkled and laced with love.

Emanate the residue, my friends. All foundations have dismantled. The veils have all lifted. The stench of rot is in the air. Breathe in the aroma deeply, my friends. You, a fellow secreter of radiance and soul. Let us dissolve reality and float about in the primordial world where everything imaginable comes to pass. Come, transcend the mud by digging into it. My friends, let us bask in the effluvia of it all!
