(ER044) Ars Sonor – Sticking Together Moonlight Torn Apart
Staring up at the moon glowing bright in the night sky, blotting out the milky way, leaving only remnants of nearby stars and glistening, flickering planets that orbit our elusive sun. Our eyes, always in motion, fragment the moon in it’s gleaming lambent shine. Our eyes blur, make doubles, wiggle, make focal points of other things, fragmenting through illusions. Soon, the moon is torn apart, and such is how nature moves our gaze forward in life. Such fragmentation manifested in the life of Laetitia Schteinberg, otherwise known as Ars Sonor. Recently departing from the Laptop Hooligans collective, with which she was heavily involved, those still operating that loveable contribution to the universe manipulated a track Sonor had produced. The track she cleaned up nice and thoroughly was by Ethnomite Pux, who released his hulusi improvisation on Treetrunk Records (A great source for quality ambience and drone). What Ethnomite Pux did with this mix was this beautiful spectacle, a striking and chaotic “ripping up” of this work, this is a track that makes your eyes look everywhere at once, wiggling and twitching and even convulsing under the moonlight. To affirm self expression, to ground a fractured moon in a concrete image, Ars Sonor has for you today a track that stills the moon, illuminating a voice that it expresses in its genuine, ceased, awakened state. I won’t try to explain the track, because I, for one, cannot mimic the song of that lunar orb on high. Let this track be a view of that orb, and granted, if your eyes still cannot cease and through this beautiful ambient perfection your restless mind still rips apart the moonlight, let this track show you the way, the discovery that there is a peculiar beauty to that strenuous totality. And as a side note, I personally also love the ripped up version of this. No bad feelings to anybody concerned. The treetrunk release is also amazing! Glory be to sounds!
