(ER064) flashroyal & plandercozeron – split 2012

Just what you’d expect from the effluvia of it all. Psychedelic, sensory overloading pop remixes by two highly eclectic and entertaining sound wackos. Though this record is short like an assertive slap in the face of you sonic masochist, this album delivers our self immolation love for feeding the acid casuality that is our mind, chewing on our comfort zones and being crafty as hell doing it. I must say, these works are just flat out brilliant. That is to be expected from flashroyal, whose craft with sounds is one I am happy to be very familiar with (he is quite prolific, often under the name postmeshische) but here on this highly creative, inventive, and intuitive little split, he is joined by another wicked tinkerer of audio, Plandercozeron, whose output, though obscure, deserves just as much recognition as his conrad. Both outspoken in their ability to make sounds on impulse, giving the songs that twist of fun and merriment that comes from making art for the sake of making art, while still teaching all who listen very very much, brilliantly too. The concept of this record is simple. Some noisy dementia bubbling and brothing with wonderful square wave dismemberment to and fro, but otherwise both tackle remixes of peculiar foreign (to me) pop songs from the artists Shocking Blue & Azis, as if the radio was playing in a car ascending to the astral plane as a result of the driver suddenly being bombarded with synesthetic kundalini magic mushroom chakra imbalance on some immeasurable level. Perhaps that is one way to put it, but we all know the superficial feelings of these kinds of hit numbers, and both artists perfectly execute their  mission statement of adding another, bulkier, trippier dimension to these top 40 mainstream mashed potatoes. (you can make a clock out of a potato). I love this album so much and wish that there were another seventy four tracks (you heard me, seventy fucking four). This can be accommodated by looping it, indefinitely. these tracks never get old. Enjoy the work of these two saints, and please look into their other works (links below). I hope to see more of these artists on my failed netlabel. the artwork alone makes me drool in joy.

Emanate the residue, my friends. All foundations have dismantled. The veils have all lifted. The stench of rot is in the air. Breathe in the aroma deeply, my friends. You, a fellow secreter of radiance and soul. Let us dissolve reality and float about in the primordial world where everything imaginable comes to pass. Come, transcend the mud by digging into it. My friends, let us bask in the effluvia of it all!
