(ER008) Pollux – Visual 4
The vast majority of netlabel musicians and fans owe much of their bloodflow to the profound divinity of Arnaud Barbe’s art. Under his name “Pollux” he has created some of the monolithic beacons of the netlabel world. His netlabel Sirona Records is indispensible as well. It may be my favorite collection of audio of all time. Albums that merge all who listen to it through the spontaneous order in the chaotic multiverse. If labels on the internet creates a single, living organism, Pollux is the heart. Simmering in the pools of IDM, ambience, electronica, jungle, lowbit, shoegaze, noise, breakcore, and so many others, making them glow a lambent glow. All clutter unclutters. All warms or cools to just the right temperature. These songs stick with you. Here on Effluvia we have for you the fourth part in a compassionate series of videos corresponding with Pollux’s versatile output. Barbe’s visual work is just as fervent and astounding as his audio plasma. He and his collaborators sure have a good eye as well as a good ear. Oh the strength of these videos! Animations of the cosmos basking in their absurdist theater of trippy glory, striking footage or riots and monkeys, and 3D realms of void and metaphysical expression. So much aesthetic here. I have a particular fondness for the goosebump seething interlude. Oh, the splendor! Thank you Pollux, for your gift of harmony to all you expose yourself to. The world melts below our feet.
